The role of the senior administration officer is to contribute to the day-to-day service delivery of the AMYAC RNTBC Coober Pedy Office. Support member services through delivering, planning and implementing office administration and service provision. 

  • This role is essential to providing seamless administrative operating functions.
  • Will work under limited direction in the application of service provision, procedures, policies and guidelines which are established.
  • Require the application of knowledge and skills which are gained through qualifications and/or previous experience in Administration.
  • Employees may receive instruction on the broader aspects of service provision and office operational functions.
  • Employees will be expected to contribute knowledge in establishing procedures in service provision and administration.
  • Employees will be responsible for managing and planning their own work and that of subordinate staff or volunteers.
  • A sound knowledge of program, activity, operational policy or service aspects of the work performed with Administration and Service Provision.
  • Require skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning and organising their own work and that of lower classified staff and/or volunteers to achieve objectives.
  • Employees will be expected to set outcomes and further develop work methods where general work procedures are not defined.

Selection Criteria

Personal Abilities/Skills

  • High level of interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate, engage and negotiate with staff at all levels
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability and skills of prioritising work activities performed within the workplace.
  • Understanding and apply computing concepts.
  • Computer literate, ability to use work, outlook, excel etc.

Experience

  • Extensive experience in providing high level administration support.
  • Experience in administration and reception functions at a senior level
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, families and organisations.
  • Desirable to have experience in project management or group planning and coordination.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to the workplace.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, codes of practice/ethics
  • Sound knowledge of procedural/operational methods of the workplace.
  • Knowledge of policies relating to the workplace.
  • Knowledge of AMYAC’S story
